First of all, unless you're coming or going by train and booked well in advance it's a real hassle getting here and leaving. Now to the National Park: My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to going on safari in supposedly 'India's best National Park'. I don't know whether our expectations were too high or what but we left... More

We went with friends for a safari in the afternoon, expecting to see some tigers by chance but we were dissapointed. We couldn't choose which place we want to do, the landscape was really nice for sure but we didn't see any "interesting" animals. He didn't bring us to the water point so for sure we had no chance to... More

We were on a Collette tour and had 3 safari opportunities in the park. Our Collette guide had arranged for us to get the same excellent guide for all three safaris. We saw lots of animals on all three safaris - langoor monkeys, spotted deer, Sambar deer, antelope, mongoose, Indian hare, crocodile, etc. We also saw lots of birds, especially... More

Two afternoon and two morning safaris. Lucky enough to see a tiger on the first one – really close too, walked within a couple of meters from our jeep. Cub – 18 months or so. It hung around near the crowds of tourists for a good half hour or so. That was the only tiger we saw. The landscape of... More

The tracks were really bumpy, and the number of trucks and jeeps in high season must make viewing less likely, but the sight of tigers in the wild was wonderful. We also saw lots of deer, monkeys, all sorts of birds including peacocks, and a flash of leopard as she dropped her kill and disappeared at the sound of our... More

We booked three jeep safaris and were sent to areas of the park that had no resident tigers – Zone 6 and 7. We swapped our last Jeep safari for a canter safari as there is a better chance of getting into zones 1 to 5 where there are tigers. Unfortunately we still managed to miss viewing tigers which were... More

Definitely recommend traveling in the Summer months if you don't mind the heat (it can get as hot as 115 degrees!). The tigers tend to come out more during the hot weather and we were fortunate enough to see tigers every day on our jungle drive. We did 8 jungle drives and were successful 5 times which is very lucky.... More

The Park's great in terms of jungle quality. It has got some great water bodies and also offers wonderful scenes (especially if you are lucky to spot tigers) with old palace ruins. The Park's divided into many zones but don't fuss about choosing zones as tiger sightings are a matter of luck. I have spotted tigers in the least preferred... More

We were in a jeep with a knowledgeable and chatty guide and we got lucky and saw a tiger. He was some distance away but got a few photos, thanks to the guide. There is nothing like the variety of wildlife as an African safari, but somehow this felt more important. The tiger is an endangered species and we could... More

Tiger Safari is "the" attraction at Ranthambore. Ofourse you will see a lot of other animals/birds, but one sighting of the tiger & your trip is made. Do take efforts & book multiple safari rides. You can do it online at government site http://www.rajasthanwildlife.in/make_your_trip/Ranthmbor/planyourtrip.jsp Unfortunately the process of getting tickets is cumbersome. You can book tickets online, but can collect... More
