Kumbalgarh is a strong & formidable fort about 80 kms from Udaipur, it is built on a hilltop and has 7 gates until you reach the main fort. The 15 feet thick periphery walls reminds you of the Great Wall of China & one keeps thinking how were they able to create this marvel years ago! The fort complex houses... More

Huge and mesmerising fort. Should visit on a beautiful and cool whether (prefer Monsoon). Light and sound show on night is good and the fort looks beautiful in the Night light. Some very goods resorts nearby.

After breakfast at Maharanibagh, we started for kumbhalgarh at 11 am. It was steep and tough drive through the hills for 40 kms. The Fort was noticeable from very far distance. It stood rock solid and massive. We drove to the parking and bought the entry passes. It as a quite a long walk. We walked through the pathways till... More

Extremely strategic location considering the security of its residents and the rulers. The fort by itself is huge and the approach is magnificent - a long walk and arduous as well but still worthwhile - the history and the valiant nature of the kings there - what an amzing past.

Second in lenght from the Great wall of China--acconding to the guide book with 35 Kms long, Kumbhalgarh Fort is my stop-over place on the way from Udaipur to Jodhpur in March 2013. I arrived the fort around mid day, but still felt this was a wonderful place. I had a great time claiming step by step, resting on the... More

Thanks to my trusted guide (Yogendra Singh Jodha), I not only saw this amazing fort and its "Great Wall", I was well informed about its history and features. Indeed, the drive from Udaipur is long and tiring, but with a reliable car, good driver, and helpful guide, the trip was easier and informative. We left (after breakfast with his family)... More

A must do in an Udaipur trip. This fort is amazing because it is open for exploration. You can take steps up the fort and feel as if you are the first one to have discovered a place which was lost in the annals of history. Discover it for yourself. The view from the top of the fort is breathtaking... More

Amazing! We are yet to see Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Dehli's Forts but this place was magical. It would be a perfect movie set. There's hundreds of old temples still well maintained and scattered throughout this Barron fort. I've never seen anything like it and is what I hoped to see in India. We paid 1800 rs for a driver with... More
