The drive to Avalanchi is absolutely spectacular, and once you get to the lake inside the Nilgiri Ecosphere, where the lake is located, it takes your breath away.

Excellent place to visit if you are adventurous type. It takes a good amount of time to go from Ooty but the scenery and the road is just breathtaking.

This was the best place in our Ooty trip. It is some 30 Kms from the Ooty town and after a point you have to go further in the forest vehicle only. The forest department's Jeep takes you through the way between thick forest and when the reservoir starts you start to enjoy the nature in its full glory. With... More

A nice water body created with construction of dams to generate power. It is nearly 50+ km from Ooty and passes through some lovely Tea estates. The road is bad and difficult to drive cars. we were very lucky to drive through mountain mist and also see Sambar deer grazing in the Tea estates.
