Lovely beaches, although very crowded and tourist. Good restaurants on the hotel but also expensive and very touristy. Had the whole 'reggae' theme going all the time with the music, dancing etc, really poor taste as it is a genuinely beautiful Indonesian Island, no need to push that overdone theme. Snorkelling all Gili Trawangan, Meno and Air was definitely a highlight of the holiday. Gili Meno and Air would be a beautiful place to holiday with small children as there are no cars or scooters on the islands.

It's a true tropical paradise with great sea life, turtles are not hard to find in the coral reefs. Accomodations are unbelievable, price ranges between 6 dollar and 60 bucks a night. The beaches of Gili are nicer and whiter than the one where we stayed in Oberoi. It takes about 20 minutes for the boat ride to the islands from the northern tip of Lombok. You can actually spend a whole day or even a night on one of the Gili islands for a truly rustic adventure.
