This park has incredible karst formations rising from the lake. We have decided to explore the lake on the overnight tour. Typical packages are 2 days and one nights spent on one of the rafthouses, this can be organized either from far away engaging costly tour operator or by contacting one of the local accommodation places in Khao Sok. The... More

Misty mountains, great lake and animal chanting! One of the best rainforests I have ever been! I will go back again.

Khao Sok as it is (a road with a few resorts in the jungle) is not the amazing part. You really have to go into the National Park of Khao Sok to see what i'm talking about. I went with a tour group and we stayed on floating bamboo bungalows with the amazing blue lake surrounding us and the giant... More

Don't go to Kaoh Sok expecting massive waterfalls and wild animals roaming free. It is a beautiful bush walk and definitely worth checking out but the "water falls" are glorified creek beds and there isn't an animal in sight. We spent about 8 hours wandering around the NP and exploring and we counted 5 frogs, 1 monkey and 4 birds.... More

We decided to go on a self led walk along the marked route (you can get maps at the visitor centre) and not take a guided tour as we didn’t have time to venture to far into the jungle. The route was well marked but you must wear good footwear and take lots of drinking water and food. Along the... More

Khao Sok is best seen from a boat on the lake at Raja Prabha dam. You can charter one for about two thousand baht and the trip takes you through what can only be described as the Halong Bay of Thailand - an absolutely stunning vista with huge rocky karsts dotting the calm waters ... tiny wooden bungalows can be... We went on this trip through a tour arranged by our hotel. Our guide Non was lovely with excellent English and really well informed about not only the park but local traditions and customs. We were collected from the hotel and then taken to a local market that was really interesting (made me wish we weren't staying in a hotel... More

Unfortunately I have to add to the warning on false National Park Trips to Khao Sok – and more sadly how difficult they are to avoid. We read the postings here before our tour and still ended up with exactly a scam tour as prior warnings described. As we were a group of 8 we booked upfront through a travel... More
