We were in awe once we stepped out of our transport and saw this temple in full white, gleaming in the sun. The design shouts creative, the paintings in the temple somewhat quirky (spot the various characters on the wall) and the fact that it's not even half done but its so amazing is breath taking. Would definitely look forward... More

Beautifull Buudhist Temple. Seems like there is no "near in the future" end to the construction of this Buddhist Marvel. Best to be visited when the sun is out. Not too far out of town. About 200 baht, two way. Don't leave without a reprint of any of the artist's paintings. Worth paying a visit when in Chiang Rai.

Did this temple as part of a very long day trip in a small bus with poor air con. Kinda get the feeling that they put the markets here and then built the temple so they cound make money

What an amazing temple... so different from any other I have ever seen. The designer obviously has great vision and talent. Love the hands at the start of the bridge and the faces in the trees. And DO visit the toilets.

This Temple is amazing, the outside is really beautiful and the inside tells the most amazing story. Its worth going to Chiang Rai just to see this temple. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it. We hired a private driver through our hotel and spent 3 hours just enjoying Wat Rong Khun. Make sure you visit the toilets which... More

This is an amazing temple.....make sure you take your sunglasses! The white temple is really quite beautiful with small mirrors embedded in the construction so you get a reflection all the time. It is hard to explain this temple. On the one hand it is a Buddhist Temple but on the other it is a work of modern art which... More

A very different attraction and a great place for taking photographs. You can easily spend a few hours here absorbing the interesting architecture and art gallery. Totally free of charge and although a little crowded surprisingly quiet. Okay some of the artwork in the gallery interprets western motifs strangely but I reckon Asians can find our interpretation of their culture... More

This was the only attraction we visited in our fly by trip to Chiang Rai en-route to Chiang Khong and it was well worth the visit. We have now been to many temples across SEA but this was very different! The temple is still being finished but it is interesting to see the various stages of construction. It is important... More

My family lives in Thailand. We kind of feel won out on temples. They all start to look the same after a while. But this was completely different. The artist who built this wat certainly has an eye for art. It is a gorgeous structure and visually stunning. Inside the temple itself there is artwork tributes to the Matrix, Pirates... More
