This was an amazing place to visit and find out more about the life of the POW's who lived and died there, working on the Burma railway. It's also worth doing the full walk - how any od our diggers survived I do not know. We salute them.

A very well maintained museum with a selection of walks along the path of the old railway line, some routes are long but there are also some short ones which also give some great views.
Great museum, it does a fantastic job of depicting the construction of the railroad with POWs, etc. I did the walk from Hintok Station to the museum, It took a little over an hour. There were lots of steps, i.e. ups and downs. The trail was very scenic and well maintained. Do it in the AM and/or on a cooler...

We hired a local taxi for 1200 bht because we didn't want to be rushed and also wanted to walk the 2.5 km railway, tours only give you a certain amount of time, so for us it was a great decision, our driver picked us up at the end of the walk, which is the whole reason you visit..it's hard to...

This place is a very poignant reminder of the tribulations of war. Will be of most interest to those descendants of Allied prisoners of war.
This was something I really wanted to do. Gallipoli seems to get all the focus when it comes to Australians at war, but I hope this gains more recognition.
The museum had me shaking my head at just how cruel people can be & how strong the human spirit is when such atrocities are carried out.
We would have liked...

We found the museum to be spotlessly clean. The displays were well presented and very informative. It is clear that a lot if work, research and money was put into this venture. The museum is only a couple of years old and therefore quite modern.
The walkway through Hellfire pass is also well slid out and easy to negotiate. We...

It was a rather hot day, it was nice and cool in the museum and the information very interesting. The walk with the audio broadcast was very touching. I like history so I enjoyed the outing, althought I was very very hot at the end of the walk. The taxi collected us at the end and drove us back to...

The museum is very informative and also audio guide provided was useful during the walk along hellfire pass. We were also provided with walkie talkie for safety, as we were walking the whole distance however this was not necessary to use. Path is mostly flat but with some steps paticularly at start and end of the trail, but not strenuous.
Easy of access, interesting content and affordable for budget travellers. Can get very busy after lunch, so go early for best views and visiting experience.
