Beach is OK...a little dirty after it rains, but the water is warm. A lot of people hawking their goods, which can be annoying. You can get food and beverages from anybody selling it on the beach.

The beach was really rammed, typical for a crazy holiday town like this I suppose. Some locals hassle you to rent a jet ski but I'd advise against it - google for the jet ski scam for more info.
the beach has lot of activities and is breezy and windy. The atmosphere is decent and lot of families roam around. Water sports, food joints, beach massage and shopping can be done.
Nice beach, a bit low class, and can be a bit dirty, the most popular beach on the island. Easy access lots to do, water sports food, massages.
Sand is nice and fine, but too touristy. There were too many people selling things such as t-shirts, sarongs, sun glasses, food, drinks, aloevera, mani and pedi, hair braiding and also semi permanent tatoo.
There are so many beaches to choose from in Phuket but Patong beach is not bad but if you prefer not to be bothered by sellers of all sorts of crap, I would suggest the nearby Paradise Beach which is small but very lovely indeed and doesn't have sellers.
A short walk from where we stayed Plenty of beach lounges available Locals selling their crafts Close to shops and takeaways I did not dislike anything
Honestly speaking if you are looking for a better beach please go over to other beaches like Karon or Kata beach much beautiful but maybe you need to get a transport to go there.
While Patong is a bit more "Ibiza" than most of Phuket it does have a great beach. If you like jet skiing and being surrounded by cool beach front bars then this is your type of beach.
On our first day, we couldn't believe the rubbish coming in with the tide. swimming between the plastic bags was a horrible experience. Next few days we took a taxi to Surin beach, which is great. However afterthat we tried Patong again, very little rubbish, and the beach looked great in the sunshine. Give it a try.
