We have a family trip to Penang last month and I purposely requested to visit this Peranakan museum as it is one of the top rated at TA review. The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is also called the green mansion as the museum is painted in green. Here is my review on the Pinang Peranakan Mansion: - Attraction Highlight: The museum... More

I loved this beautiful renovated mansion. It's full of artefacts from old Penang and has been so well done that when you walk into a room you feel as though one of the old family has just left it! We could have had a guide of were free to walk about and explore on our own. It is beautifully built... More

the collection if artifacts has been done with lot of efforts, they items dispalyed show the craftsmanship and the quality of yester years. Even though I have been exposed to chinese artifacts in Asian Art museum SFO, this was still very interesting for me. Since it is maintained as a house, it really takes you back to how they used... Beautifully restored mansion. A small entrance fee is required there is a small shop where cute items can be found. I loved the original set up of the rooms right down to makeup on the dressing table.

Stumbled upon this absolutely fabulous place in the banking quarter. Have been to Penang 16 times in last 30 years and this was a total surprise. The money spent to renovate, decorate and upkeep the buildings is substantial. Congratulations to the owner. 20RM entry and a "free" tour guide.... no money up front but we had an especially good, English... More

A wealth of history crammed in a tiny space. If you want to see the old Malaysia here is a good place to start. History buffs like me will eat up the load of collectibles inside plus its near town so a quick walk will get you here

This was a last minute excursion and I'm thinking it should have been top of the list: it's just interesting, informative and full of stuff to ooh and aaah over

Liked all of it. I liked the location near the hotel in fact walking distance. Not a sprawling museum but has everything you would find in a museum. Well kept. One of the place I would go back to during my next visit.
