Sapi Island has clearer waters, but Manukan has wider expanse of sand. Various activities can also be done here, like kayaking, parasailing and a bit of trekking (too bad we didn't get to do the last one due to time constraints). Its powdery sands and green waters are nice, though i was dismayed to see a diaper and some water...

i hate when they trow baby diaper in the beach. i like to snorkeling here, kids love swimming here, the sand is so clean and white
Large areas of the coral is dead on this island. There is a smallish resort based there and together with the large number of "snorkellers", who stand on the coral, combined with large number of boats that go to the island appear to have caused a lot of damage.
Departing from Sutera harbour and arriving 20 mins later, the cost included lunch of fish, prawns, noodle dishes and desert with fresh fruit. Snokelling was great, visibility depends on tide and current, however a plethora of marine life close to shore. Amenities are well catered for and the ferrying of visitors back to Sutera well organised at regular intervals
Just a 10 minute boat ride from mainland Kota Kinabalu is the pristine waters and sand of Manukan Island. It is one of the 3 famous island beaches in the area. We were lucky we went there on a weekday so not many tourists or visitors are visiting. Entrance fee is charged upon entering the island. But with the cleanliness...

except hot, which is also amazing characteristic of Tropical area. The island is beautiful, clear water, nice staff, many activities, snorkerling with not risk at all, although I never snoker ther. pit not to have sea walk.. since there is full booked already by 10am.
I went snorkelling on both Manukan and Mamutik Islands. For a novice snorkeller both locations are excellent. They provided picturesque coral outcrops with abundant and diverse fish populations. My only problem was a sunburnt back from about 5 hours in the water. Both islands provided great facilities for family outings.
So many rubbish at beach...after snorkelling there my skin got itchy, overall just so so only.. Management should take note for this issues... Got many complaint for beach cleanliness
A fantastic island to take your family. Good facilities public and private. Safe area for family to swim, snorkel and just relax. Fantastic being able to see coral up close but a shame that people break off pieces and or take pieces with them.
