Mesmerising, with lots of great photo opportunities. Very picturesque with plants growing inside. Downside is walking a bit dangerous. Steps steep and little or no handrails. Not recommended for people who aren't sure footed. good shoes required for stability

Went for a solo trip to the caves. Caught the number 2 bus from Kuching to Bau from the main bus stop (1hour 10 mins travel time). Then had (lucky for me) a 15 minute wait till a number 3 bus could take me 15 minutes more to the turn off to the fairy caves. The sign at the turn... More

There are several sets of steep steps up to the cave entrance before even more steps inside to get up into the cave so pace yourself. It is worth the effort as the cave is stunning and huge. A decent torch is essential to appreciate the rock formations and pools deeper into the cave, take a hand and a head... More

We went here one afternoon. We hired a taxi which cost 180rm a six seater one. It took roughly 50 mins to get there from jalan rubber. We first stopped at the fairy caves. So initially you have to climb some steep stairs, quiet a lot of stairs them you enter the cave. It is dark so you should definitely... More

We took a bus to Bau, the village close to the caves, where there was no "white" people around, only locals. the market was nice to see. We lovd the bus ride and the countryside we saw. Then we took a taxi to get there. It's huge and very impressive. We only woshed we had taken a torch to enjoy... More

Getting up to this cave is hard work, and walking around inside is more hard work, but it is fabulous! The only reason you might want to think twice about going here is if your health isn't the best, because there is quite an effort involved in getting up there. Make sure you wear proper shoes, since sandals or the... More

Good day out with lots of exercise and Bats.... The shear size of the caves is amazing and definately worth a visit. Make sure you go all the way through.

These caves are good, lots of steps. Would advise good walking shoes and I used a stick as I have a bad knee. Go slow and take it all in, be carefully of your footing on the way down, take a small torch with you or a head lamp.

If I had limited time in and around Kuching the Fairy Caves would probably not be my first priority, but if you've got the time they are absolutely worth the visit! They are quite pretty and it's fun to explore all the nooks and crannies. Caves generally make me quite claustrophobic, but the fairy cave is huge, open and bright... More

Very hard to find, someone needs to put up proper directions to the Fairy Caves as we followed some off the internet and they were wrong. As far as I'm concerned the ones on Google Maps are incorrect too. Once we finally found the place and climbed up all the stairs, it was a breathtaking experience. It's like being in... More
