This big shrine covered by deep green forest and deep white snow. It was very beautiful, atmosphere was so quiet. This quietness was comfortable. There were guide-leaflets written in English, Korean and Chinese near the main gate. If you can't walk about 15-20 minutes, It's convenient to use a bus from Maruyama-Koen subway station.

excellent the setting in the woods is lovely.We visited on a Sunday and were fortunate to arrive when a blessing ceremony was on and there was a sumo wrestling competition nearby

If you are used to shrines that displays grandeur, then Hokkaido Jingu would be vastly different. It is located within walking distance from Maruyama Koen subway station and located nearby the Maruyama Park. I was fortunate enough to witness a traditional wedding to make visiting the shrine worthwhile.

The moment I step into this place, I felt peace all around. Maybe it's the lack of people when I am there. Something to experience about the Japanese culture here; their beliefs. Nice stroll around with the cooling weather...

The Hokkaido shrine is situated in the beatiful Muruyama Park. I liked the architecture of the shrine but was unable to appreciate its religious significance. A trip that is good if one is looking for a relaxing stroll.

Nice to walk around. When I went there, there was a traditional style wedding going, so it was an entertainment.
