There is absolutely no English information and you look around without making much up of the history of the place, but the gardens are beautiful, on a nice weather it's good even to just relax and enjoy the fresh air and some traditional snacks.

Visiting Osaka Castle was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The castle is situated within a large park, which contains many gardens, moats and rock walls. You enter the Castle grounds from quite a distance away. As we were walking along we were wondering where the Castle was, then you finally catch a glimpse of this magnificent,...

It wasn't cherry blossom season so with all the walking you have to do, it just wasn't worth it. The gardens were just, well, trees. Nothing spectacular and the castle is new.
We went to Osaka Castle in the late afternoon. The park leading to it is beautiful and as you approach the castle and the waters surrounding it you'll be able to spot turtles swimming in there. It's quite a walk from the Chuo line so make sure you're early enough if you want to enter the castle. The admission fee...

If your in Osaka for a period of time and want to spend 30 to 60 min this isnt a bad place. I enjoyed it. Very interesting castle. I didnt enjoy the written history inside much, but the internet can fill you in on the info later. Look very impressive in photography if you catch it at the right time...

Tip: Take the elevator up! We took staircase and was pretty taxing, especially when you are carrying your kid!
This castle should be on top of your must-see list in Osaka. Beautifully rebuild and a sight to behold. You can enjoy the surrounding areas too, all beautifully restored.
Inside the castle, you will learn about different periods in Japan history...

Historically attractive building that has a wonderful view from the top, and great location to view cherry blossoms around the castle. After alighting from the JR subway Morinomiya station, there is a nice park for us to enjoy before we would reach the castle. Being known for its history, Nijo Castle has limited attractions unless one really loves the Japanese...

What asight, cherry blossoms and the castle and light misty rain Very romantic. I liked the vision, I didn't like walking so much
ok so if you are in Osaka then you at least have to go and see the castle. Its very impressive and makes for some lovely photos, and we were lucky enough to go there when the cherry blossom was still out. The gardens are good for a stroll too and 2 stations on the JR loop are very convenient.....
