Having multiple ethnicities where you live gives you great chance to be apart of so many celebrations. And with all these celebrations there is always a meal. So you see, us Malaysians take our food very seriously.Join Food Tour Malaysia Food in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur is unique. Some dishes here you will not be able to find in other parts of the country, and if you do, chances are that they probably could trace their roots to these 2 cities. Penang being the only other exception. The daily ritual of eating communally is one of the most endearing of Malaysian experiences. It is warm, and it’s at the dinner table where you get to really understand and get the authentic ‘feel’, the heartbeat of the Malaysian community. « less

Off the Beaten Track food tour in KL was a great experience. Our guide, Michelle did a great job describing the culture, types of food and locations. She definitely knows her way around and had no problem dealing with traffic or parking throughout the night. I enjoyed most of the food and all of her stories, along with the cooks... More

One of my favorite parts of traveling to a new country is trying the food but I tend to be a little hesitant in Asia countries just because things can look a little strange and I'm worried about getting sick. This tour was the perfect solution to what I was looking for! I honestly would have never gone to the... More

After reading reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to book for the evening Off the Eaten Track tour at short notice. While they weren't able to accommodate us that day we were able to book in for the following night. Our instructions for meeting our guide Charles were very straight forward and it was interesting to catch the train through... More

This was an absolute highlight of our trip. We went into the experience with no fear or prejudice after already spending 10 days in Borneo and Kl and quickly realising that our usual expectations of food preparation and restaurant settings are very different in Malaysia. In saying that we were not taken to any places where we felt it was... More

We took a 4 hour lunchtime tour and we had mixed feelings about the whole experience. We are both keen travelers of mixed origins. Positive points: - Very friendly and eager-to-please tour guide. - Great to try food you would not necessarily find in touristy places - Fun to eat among locals Negative points: - The tour guide took us... Been to KL before and wish we had taken this tour the first time. An authentic introduction to the huge variety in Malaysian food and all in local spots away from the well trodden tourist trail. We learned so much, not just about the food (which was so plentiful we didn't need to eat much that evening!), but about the... More

I would recommend the food tour to anyone who wants to see and experience a little bit of the real Malaysia, not the tourist section. We did multiple local restaurants, had a great food without another tourist in sight, and had a guide that was immensely knowledgeable, open and informative about all aspects of life in the country. In short,... More

My whole experience with Food Tours Malaysia was great. I sent them an e-mail about the tour and they responded quickly. When I requested to book a tour there were no tours on my days but when I told them how long I would be in Malaysia they found me a tour and I was booked. The people of Food... More
