About
KL Tower or also known as Menara Kuala Lumpur, the tallest Telecommunication Tower in South East Asia & the 7th tallest in the world, was built to improve the quality of telecommunications and broadcasting transmissions. It has become a significant landmark and symbol that identifies Malaysia as a great tourist destination of the millennium and at the same time a testimony of Malaysia’s capability in the building of high technology facilities. Located atop Bukit Nanas at a breathtaking height of 421 meters, KL Tower was built blending the tower seamlessly with nature. Bukit Nanas is one of the oldest permanent forest reserves in Malaysia. It was gazette in 1906 and was formerly known as Bucket Weld Forest Reserve. Covering an area of approximately 9.37 hectares, Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is the only remaining virgin tropical rainforest in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur. Serving as the green lung of the city, Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is also home to an abundant of flora and fauna of the Malaysian tropical rainforest. In fact, KL Tower is the only tower in the world located within a forest! KL Tower is in the hospitality and business experience industry. It offers experiences such as viewing, dining, nature, adventure, event and shopping. Current products and services offered at KL Tower include Observation Deck, Revolving Restaurant (Atmosphere 360°), Mega View Banquet Hall for Meeting and Seminars / Private Functions such as Wedding in the Sky, Mini Theater, Amphitheater, F1 Simulator, Blue Coral Aquarium, KL Tower Mini Zoo and MKL Performing Arts Group.

- Alex HPort St. Mary, United Kingdom1,319 contributionsAmazing views at nightHighly recommend the sky deck and sky box tickets as this provides the best views of the city, and also grants you a queue number entry onto the scary skybox platforms. Views are amazing at nighttime, particularly as you can see the lights from the top of the Petronas towers illuminate the sky. Breathtaking views and well worth the fairly expensive cost.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 June 2023
- MariJCeeLuzon, Philippines155 contributionsAwesome ViewI was surprised, there were so many people at the view deck, yet we were able to get tickets right away. (we were also reminded that there could be a long line to get tickets😊 Maybe, because we went there in the afternoon) The staff were nice and welcoming. Its a must go place to visit. We took a lot of pictures. The fees differ per level, though. There were several snack bars available. Also very nice souvenirs for sale👍👍Visited October 2022Travelled on businessWritten 12 July 2023
- Muhammad A11 contributionsTime your visitBecause of how much it rains here it's most likely not a good idea to book ahead since if it rains you won't be allowed up. I tried to go around sunset time but was not able to because of the rain so I went early the next day. The view is really nice you can see the skyline of the city as well as the Petronas Towers. There is a glass box which sticks out of the tower for a better view and pictures.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 15 August 2023
- Ankit BGurugram (Gurgaon), India303 contributionsBest views of KL... Better than petronas!!Best place in KL to see the city view from a height. Better than petronas tower!!! We took the ticket for sky box and sky deck and it was worth it We reached between 5.30 to 6.00 pm. There was no rush to get in.It took us atleast 30 min of waiting to get our turn for the sky box. We only were able to get to sky box 2 as the waiting time for sky box one was even longer. There one good thing that came off the wait was that we got to see the KL skyline in day and as well as night when the light got switched on.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 21 August 2023
- sevenDubai, United Arab Emirates9 contributionsGood to visit as a tourist3/5 1st October 2023 Came here as a tourist. Got to save its pretty nice up there to look at the views. But I felt the organization of the lifts and everything was a disaster as we were stuck up there for 30 minutes due to poor management. I hope it’s not the same usually but that was my experience. Good to come here if you’re a tourist.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 1 October 2023

If this were the only tall tower in KL then it might be worth the trip. But there's the PETRONAS towers. In addition I had a very unpleasant experience. I paid for and took the elevator to the outdoor observation deck near the top. There are two glass enclosed sky boxes, and for a small fee you get to enter whichever one you choose. You are given a number and you wait. I waited and watched as groups of two, three, and four entered in turn the sky box, had their pictures taken by a professional photographer, and in leisurely fashion enjoyed the view. Typically between 5 and 10 minutes. Now it's my turn. I enter the box, one of the attendants asks me if I want my photo taken, I say no, and after 45 SECONDS he tells me my time is up. Why I was treated differently from the other guests, I don't know. My guess is that since they make money if you have your photo taken they want to hustle along non-paying customers. Just a guess. I'm 75 years old. In some societies people defer to and show respect for older people. This disparate treatment unfairly turned me off to Malaysia.

Excellent view’s of the city and the more popular Petronas tower. I’m don’t like hights so only to the observation deck not outside. If you are travelling into KL from the cruise terminal use their transport even though it’s going to be expensive, the traffic is horrendous you don’t want to miss ships departure.

No need to get so close as magic of this architectural building is more from distance. There are several other interesting places so close, like Merdeka square and China town

We visited the KL Tower on a cruise ship excursion so the cost was included as part of our package. We didn't have much time here, approximately 25 minutes at the Observation deck, but it was enough time to take in the views in all directions, take photos and shoot some video footage.
It would have been nice to have had more time to take in the sky deck and even eat at the revolving restaurant, but sadly this was not possible. The KL Tower is the 7th tallest tower in the world and although it's not as well known as the Petronas Twin Towers, the KL tower remains the highest viewpoint in Kuala Lumpur that is open to the public.

After seeing the long line for petronas we headed here, and glad we did. No crowd or queue and we had unlimited time to wander around the outside deck. Def worth doing.

This is an iconic landmark but it's a disappointment!
The view of KL is of course good but the deck smells of a toilet and the lift folk are a best tolerant of tourists.
Easy access though with free shuttles and close to the metro.

I decided to do the KL observation deck instead of other options since the view from the deck includes the Petronas towers. This was my first stop in the morning and I had the deck to myself, so I didn't have to wait for views or pictures. Staff were very happy to show me around and point out what I was looking at, and even took great photos of me!

If you don't pick up your sky box photos on the day is there a chance of getting them at a later date or ordering them on line

It is upto you how much time you want to spend there. At the time of dusk you can view the transition of the city from day light to artificial lights.

Es gibt such VIP Tickets. Mit diesen geht es sehr schnell. Würde diese empfehlen. Auf alle Fälle, mindestens zwei Stunden Zeit einplanen.
Viel Spaß

If I were you. I’ll go there 6pm. You can enjoy the day sky view and enjoy gradually sunsets. Then enjoy the night sky view at 7pm.

Hi, on the website i have tried to book tickets; it only allows you to select a date not a time slot?
Is this automatically given to you? Thanks

You can go anytime, but you will have to wait for an hour or so before being able to access the Sky Box. Remember to ask for your numbered ticket when you get upstairs.
