This place is so magical. Good roads up to the mountain in a fog. A snow storm had come through overnight so we were not disappointed with the snow cover, and magical views through the trees. Great terrain and good quality chairlifts. Excellent value for money ski lift passes, compared to other Utah ski resorts.

This place just IS Utah skiing! I love the kicked-back, relaxed attitude of this place. The skiing, especially for the advanced intermediate to expert levels, cannot be matched for snow quality and varied terrain conditions. The lodging situation is a little rustic shall we say, so if the great family experience is what you're after, stay at Snowbird down the... More

This was my first trip to Utah. I had only skied parts East and a few resorts in Colorado so I was eager to ski here. I had talked to a traveller at Denver airport last year who was returning home from Alta. I had just skied Keystone Co(excellent) with my family and he was telling me about Alta. I... More

This resort is not new so don't go expecting a fancy new high end lodge and restaurants with ski valets - but do go expecting good snow and a great mix of terrain! There are chutes you can hike out to, bowls you can traverse to your favorite line, plenty of trees stands with great powder stashes, and lots of... More

A gorgeous resort with tons of fresh, lovely powder! I like the fact that it only allows skiers, no boarders! My family and I always have a great time there.

The family went to Utah for the 1st time. Everyone is an intermediate to expert skier. I do love this place. Its got varied, yet challenging terrain. Even though its "old school", it has everything that you could want in a ski resort at the right price. We are looking forward to coming back soon

These guys get blasted every year! Old school resort with some classic runs but the two different mountain sections can be kind of a pain to navigate sometimes. Definitely worth a visit as its a great resort but wouldn't recommend for a novice.

Absolutely worth the trip if you are a serious skier. Alta is the only major domestic resort that has zero debt, so they don't have to sell out the land for real estate. As such, there exists only a small handful of slopeside lodging options. So, what it might lack in terms of five diamond restaurants, it makes up with... More

Born and raised in Utah, I have grown up skiing at Alta and even now that I have left the state, I still try to come back and get at least one day up on the slopes. Went skiing with my father this past weekend as the season was winding down. Even in April, the skiing was good, though maybe... More

I always liked Alta, for it has Utah's most snowpack, till the end of the season. Longer lift lines, and Utah's highest prices, since it does not move as many people as Solitude, and it is skiers only. I like the back side, and have skied it in a blizzard, but beware of the top of one lift cliff, where... More
