I was actually very suprised at the size and variety that this museum has to offer. It is a great place to visit alone or with a large group.

The William King Museum is a non-profit regional art museum and arts education center housed in a historic 1913 former school. It is the only facility of its kind and Virginia’s only nationally accredited museum west of Roanoke. An average of 9 exhibitions are mounted each year, showcasing art of the region and of the world.

Enjoy the beautiful pottery, paintings, and other cultural art items at the Museum. Not too big, not too small - just right for an enjoyable break.

Spacious faculty and nice staff...there are displays of folk art, historical art and Salvador Dali's work on Dante. Downstairs wre works by young students which were really wonderful.
