This beautiful 'palacete' in the Graça area of Salvador is a must. It's always good to see some statues in a nice garden setting by french top sculptor Auguste Rodin. Great place and neighborhood, there is a subway in front and a mac donalds just few minutes ahead. Near by the MAB museum art of Bahia and the Carlos Costa Pinto Museum. All is worth your visit here: the Rodin sculptures, the historical house and the fresh little garden to have a rest, a drink and a quick meal!!! Enjoyable!!!

The mansion has a handful of Rodin sculptures & there are 3 or so more outside in the gardens. Free on Sundays; not sure about other days. Behind the mansion is a contemporary Bahian art gallery (also free on Sundays) w/ wire & rock sculptures downstairs & a hallway of 'tapestry art' upstairs. there is an exhibit of plasters that Rodin did as studies. But better is the modern wing in back with some interesting modern art (depends of the time). A lovely cafe to relax in, wifi, an oasis of calm.
