It´s a small crawded beach, always full of sunshades. Definitely, there are better beaches around Buzios

There is practically no beach, it is packed with people and there is virtually no sand or room on the sand for you to lie down. The water is on the warm side, I'll grant you that, but because so many people eat there it was dirty. We were there three times because some members of our family were staying... More

We arrived in Buzios for a 1 day cruise stop. We went to Joao Fernandes beach. This beach is rather narrow from the water to the back of the beach which ends at a stone wall separating the beach from a road (not a busy road). The beach is packed with restaurants that set up chairs, small table and umbrellas.... More

Up until the mid-eighties, there wasn't a single construction in the João Fernandes beach and it used to be magical. Sometime since then, construction permits have been given a dime a dozen and questionable pousadas have popped up all over. In respect to my memories, I don't go near it.

This is a very nice little beach, clear water, and that's that. There are two places that rent chairs, there are people selling massages and clothes going up and down but they don't really bother you like in other beach destinations.

Here all the tourist were.. Great restaurants all the way to the water. Friendly people serving you and the chairs and parasol is free. We were surprised that 2 meters out in the water a bunch of fish were playing around, so we rented snorkel and fins (R$15 for an hour) and dived in.. how much fun this was.. we... More

Unfortunately, because there are so many hotels and houses aroung, the beach gets very full!!There are many restaurants right on the beach, but i just didn´t enjoy the fact that people were all the way to the edge of the water. There are so many other calmer, beaches where you can get more space for yourself.

We stayed near this beach in Buzios. The water is calm and there is a reef that you can snorkel.
