A place to put into the `Must Visit' in Kandy and not to be missed. Always loved this as I fancy the cultural shows. The Dancers and the drummers are amazing and recommend seeing a dance performance if you are in Kandy for sure.

It was a good show considering that it is not novice dancers. Don't expect the Russian Ballet. They looked like they had fun, the guy we enjoyed watching the most was the guy on the finger cymbals.... At the end they have a tip box near the door which is locked and all money goes to the Red Cross.

The fire walking was the best but there was an issue with health and safety; wooden seats and rafters, very crowded and only one way out.

Our guide arranged for us to have seats right at the front for this extravaganza of Sri Lankan and Kandyan music and dance. there were several dances representing different aspects of Sri Lankan life, along with drumming, plate spinning, masked dances, acrobatics, and the grand finale of fire walking, where the dancers danced their way across burning charcoals whilst spinning... We enjoyed this dance show more than we thought we would. The dancers are very talented and look as though they enjoy it a lot. We visited this as part of a larger Kuoni tour, so I'm not sure how much individual tickets cost but it was a nice extra part of the tour.

You need to get here early to obtain a good seat. The performance is only once a day at 5 p.m. and we came to see this prior to going to the Temple of The Tooth which is a short walk away. The dancers and costumes were lovely and the music is very loud. The highlight was the fire dance... More

We visited here for the cultural dancing and firewalking. It was great to see the traditional costumes, dance and song as many of the hotels seem to think guests only want generic European music... We loved the entertainment (drumming is hypnotic) but the setting location is rather tatty and could do with a renovation.

Buy tickets from Cultural Centre located near the lake behind the temple. ( Take the small pedestrian-only road outside the temple and you will find it). Performance take place ONLY once a day, at 5pm. dont misunderstand the local saying "5,6" is 5 to 6! Although it hardly takes one hour and there is a lot of loud banging etc.... More
