horrible place. on earth one has to tremble on somebody for each step. it will be easier to walk in moon than in ranaganathan street.

while shopping one should do in a clam atmosphere. though some items are cheap when compared to the other places, one cannot go and get crushed in the crowd. the joy of shopping is lost.
Need better pavement space utilisation.. wish ppl in charge would revisit these areas and reboot facilities
ver very crowded. Pondy bazar is a better place to visit for shopping. U can get stuff for as low as hundred rupees from the stalls lining the road and you can get branded stuff from the pucca shops. It is every woman's paradise:)
A busy street where you can do shopping from street side platform shops to big showrooms. A wonderful experience that a person visiting Chennai should fee.
Best shopping spot for Textiles. Try Pothys, Chennai Silks and RMKV for textiles. Try GRT for Gold. Disliked the crowd
Typical local market, really interesting especially with the amazing vegetable market beside the railway. You can enjoy few hours ih the market if you don't care about the mess and ditiness typical of each indian market. No many western go in this place, so the local people look at you really surprised and often ask to take picture with you,...

This is the place to go to if you are shopping crazy and are good in bargaining. large choice. beware of crouud. well policed place.
Sure, most of the merchandise is cheaper in Ranganathan Street than rest of the city, but its not worth risking your life in such a crowded, unregulated , narrow street !
