Excellent example of an original Melaka trader's house, now been expertly restored- lets you see how these beautiful old houses were built to suit the tropical environment.
A Dutch colonial house has been reconstructed using original materials as much as possible. We learnt about the reconstruction process of the house interior and the layout of the house. Although small, it was very interesting. The guide was busy with other guests while we were there so we went round reading the displays in our own time. Payment is...

It's good to see such a great example of restoration of one of the old shop houses in this town. They are doing a good job here, and need the support of those who appreciate their work. There's a good selection of publications available too.
The host was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, but the house itself was not very interesting after we had just visited the Baba-Nunya museum down the road. It's free (donations welcome) so there is no harm in popping by for a quick (5-10 mins) visit as you pass by, but don't expect anything earth shattering.
A small but important part of Melaka history. With so much development going on retaining heritage is a constant challenge. The guide was informative and balanced providing information while also letting us have a good look around. Well maintained and interesting old residence. Definately worth a visit while walking around old Melaka.
This place is dead during the week, but on weekends it's really nice. There are a lot of galleries and art places. Enjoy a walk during Fr, Sa.
This shop house was restored in response to a recommendation from the UN and it's been done with original materials where possible. There is info to read about what and why, which is elaborated on by the man who looks after it - and is very knowledgeable. No, it doesn't take long to walk around but it's interesting to know...

the guy running the place is very helpful and lets you know all about the place - the house itself is pretty small and unspectacular but worth a short visit for sure
This simple shop house is one of the few that has been preserved and restored to its original state to give a glimpse of what life was like in old Melaka.
It only takes half an hour to visit, but is free (donations welcomed) and if you are interested in old buildings then this is worth visiting, just a few...
