So much more than jewellery, there is something for everyone! You get to immerse yourself in the Baba Nyonya household, customs, marriage rites, ways of dress, and home life. Passionate and very knowledgable tour from Linda (in Cantonese), ever patient with my questions and she made it so fun. Highly recommend.

Really fascinating visit to this restored house of a distinguished Chinese/Malay family. The guide was very knowledgable and showed a great interest in the items on display. For those interested in jewellery it is an impressive collection. The museum encapsulates what life must have been like for this affluent lawyer’s family.

I visited this mueseume with my friends to know to know about the starit chainese and the nonya baba and i am so happy that i got such a wonderful and and friendly guide who walked with me and explain each and everything in such detail. Amazed to see so much history under one roof the rich cultural of the nonya baba everything preserved so well. Every artifact tells you a tale about the lifestyle and culture of the nonya baba. The jewelry is breath taking such hand made designs which cant be made today.
A must go place in Malaka strongly recommend it.

Well worth an hour or so of your time if you love to see period pieces of jewelry of which there are many precious items from several Baba Nonya families of the area. Displayed clearly.

The museum is located in a Peranakan house and many artefacts were displayed. It was worth a visit as photo-taking was allowed and a guide was provided to explain about the peranakan culture to us. The displays were well-arranged too.

This museum is delightful! We walked past it many times and finally decided to go in despite its underwhelming exterior.

It was so much more informative and relaxed than the Baba Nyonya Museum further up the street!

A guide is included in the admission price and they run tours for even just two of you. The guide was lovely and very well informed. They do not restrict you taking photos and the jewellery is only one aspect, most of the tour is about culture and history, presented in an unpretentious and relaxed style.

I like to bring my international customers(when they are visiting me at our Melaka factory) to this place. This is because the Musium doesn't need to make reservation and just walk in then the personal experience tourguid will introduce and explain the stories and the ancient life style of Baba Nyonya.
The contents are rich and abundance. When my internatinal customers ask questions; the tourguid is able answer back with substance information.

My expectations were sky-high after all the dazzling reviews. So after visiting, I thought it was very good but nowhere near Melaka's best attractions.
First things first, you don't have to pay extra for a guide, the collection is beautiful and you can take many photos. Having however visited the more superior Penang Peranakan Museum, I thought for the price, there were too few things to see. We were out of here in thirty minutes. I also feel that we didn't really learn many new things here.
I would still recommend this place but keep your expectations lower.

This museum is housed in a heritage building on the same road as the Baba & Nyonya Museum. As well as the jewellery and furniture display, we learnt about the Peranakan culture. There is also a nice collection of shoes and porcelain on display. A must visit if in the area.
