I thought the trip will be more of historical viewing but it turned out to be more shopping. A nice area consist of small streets and isles with well preserved building. You can wondering around this area in and out of shops for hours. Some restaurant and cafe are nice.

Nice area to wander around in. Treelined avenues. What we enjoyed most was the excellent park - Fuxing park it's called I think. Very different from anything else you'll see in China.

If you like history and tradition, there's not a lot left unless you visit with a guide who can explain it all to you (as we did - check out Harris tours) and/or visit the museum and pay close attention. If you go there on your own, expect a very pleasant and relaxing environment to wine and dine in internationally... More

Really good area for restaurants and bars. Don't expect anything traditional around here though very much the Expat community area.

Obviously popular, but I'm not one for crowds. Didn't find it all that exciting. There are a lot of restaurants/bars to choose from. There's lots of security too. Have you ever seen a Lamborghini dealership? Or a Rolls Royce dealership? If not, go look for them...near the park with the big lake...sorry I forget the name. -david

If you're tired of Chinese food and want a bit of Europe, go here. Great restaurants with western food, you will see fewer Chinese and more Europeans...upscale. clean, but more expensive food, shopping, accommodations.

Some really great bars around the French Concession. Also some really good food to be found. Things can be that little bit more expensive, but in some cases, it's worth that little bit extra. Streets are very pretty to just even stroll around.

Beautiful tree lined avenues and streets which give you an idea of what SH was like back in the day. Worth a visit, this is best part of Shanghai to live in. Full of character and colour.

The area called Xintiandi is great. A new ara of Shanghai that's made to look old. Great restaurants, near the Langham Hotel.
