Dvir is a great tour guide providing insight into the Jewish history of Shanghai. His passion in this area is obvious as he transfers his knowledge to those on the tour. A must for those interested in both Jewish & Shanghai history.

this is a must do to understand Shanghai's unique role and status during the second world war and how it was developed prior to that time. Fascinating way to see Shanghai's dock and "ghetto district".

It hv a jewish museum be prepare to pay 50RMB. Behind the museum on the same lot, there are alot of nostalgic buildings..... it is good place for photographer

We were expecting to see some old European history but there was really very little. A synagogue done up as a museum which did show the mercy the Chinese offered Jewish refugees in the 1930s and 1940s as well as a memorial park and the European flavour of housing styles in the area we were taken to.

Both me and my wife are Jewish and were very moved by hearing how the Chinese helped save an entire community of almost 20000 Jews when all other nations turned their back on us. Not Jewish, but really thought this place was very touching. By that I mean I didn't know the story about the Jewish community that lived in Shanghai before ww2 and how the Chinese helped take in people in the 30's. Quite moving.
