The cathedral was open at night, and the ceiling is beautiful. It is a must see in an accessable downtown location right on the square.

A very nice surprise to find such a lovely cathedral and the central park adjacent. wonderful for people watching and taking in local culture.

Just completing a three-year remodel and it is beautiful inside and out. Located centrally in city of Alajuela by central park ans museum.

It is set in a nice park right in the middle of Alajuela and you will see what life is like in a typical CR city center. For a good meal while you are there, walk to the street behind the church, go left and walk 1 1/2 blocks to Jalapeno Central. It is the #1 restaurant in Alajuela province.

Right beside a downtown park. They were having mass on Friday evening, so we only got to peek in the doors, but it was beautiful from what we saw. We did not tour due to the mass. Certainly worth seeing.

Interesting style that I believe is typical of a number of churches in Costa Rica. It doesn't match up to the splendid monuments in Europe, but it is definite;y worth looking at if you are nearby.
