It is a beautiful scenery, but It was hard to go down to the water and steps are very steep. I would recommend it to people that have not problems climbing or walking.

We had a great time at La Fortuna Waterfall. The hike down the canyon requires descending ~500 steps and can be a bit dicey in a few places. My wife has some back issues and took the descent slow, but was still able to navigate it. Our guide watched our bags while we took a quick dip. Be aware that...

This is a must do if you are staying close to LaFortuna. The hike took less than an hour and it is strenuous, think stairmaster with a view! But the reward at the bottom is well worth it. Take a dip in the cool waters and relax before your hike back up. Admission was $10. PP and you can stay...

the hike down is not as bad as the hike up! But we were still hot and dying for a swim when we got to the fall. The fall is enormous and the river is fun to climb over the rocks and explore. Rocks are slippery in places. A little down from the fall, if u cross the river there...

We went to the waterfall when we first got to La Fortuna. We drove to the parking lot and it was a easy hike down to the fall with great views of the fall and the jungle.
We were rewarded with a great swim in the lower part of the fall with gorgeous views of the fall and it's crystal...

we went horseback riding from la fortuna the hiking up and down can be a little hard but the place is beautiful
A lot of steps down to a fantastic waterfall. You can swim beneath the waterfall itself and also in the river a bit further down. Unless you are particularly unfit the steps are not an issue, and there's even a rest bench half way.
Not so sure about the 400 steps up though.
No picture I've seen truly captures the scale of this awe inspiring waterfall. It is larger, noisier and much more magnificent than the prospective shown on pictures. We took a horseback tour from the La Fortuna (about 1hr), the ride itself is relaxing and charming - unfortunately I don't recall the...

Easy hike down to an amazing waterfall/pool. The scenery was amazing. The waterfall was awesome in person. The water was cold but worth it to swim near a waterfall.
