Outstanding excursion; besides the usual whale sightings they pulled out all kinds of interesting catches - various types of crabs; starfish, giant shrimps and so on. Everyone gets to be involved no matter where you sit on the boat. The hosts/guides were very entertaining with wonderful stories about their lives at sea. For those who watch the Deadliest Catch on... More

Meeting the staff on the ship was great. They are real experienced fishermen. Some have been on the Deadliest Catch show. They are very personable and approachable. The fact that they work with a local native tribe to allow you to see things you wouldn't normally see - like the eagle feeding - are amazing. Dozens of eagles circling next... More

This is a “Must Do” when in Ketchikan. There are several trips per day, so you’ll have time to shop or take a float plane while in port as well. We walked off of the Radiance of the Seas and 50 feet away was the Aleutian Ballad. It might be a 5-10 minute walk from the farthest berth. On board,... More

Don't miss this one!!! The tour is fantastic, one of the best we have taken. Whales, bears on shore, learning how to fish for crabs, life "On the Deadliest Catch" in the Bering Sea (The ship stays in a sheltered harbor area). great views Derrick, Terry and Dan are real pros and do a great job showing and telling what... We held live HUGE snow crabs, box crabs, shrimp, king crab. They feed bald eagles so the eagles swarmed the boat which was so cool. They had a octopus. The trip and the stories were cool. Glad we did this excursion.

This was the best excursion we did in Alaska ! The crew was amazing, very entertaining, extremely knowledgable. We love the show the deadliest catch and it gave us excellent perception on how things actually work on the ship. It also answered a lot of questions we had. We got tons of pictures and video of the Bald Eagles, but... More

The minute I found out about this "tour" I wanted to go. I was not disappointed. From the minute I got on the guys were in the up mode. Fishing, Pots or Eagles all was fantastic. I got to talk to each crew member, which was a treat. Being a fan of "Deadliest Catch" I learned some things I didn't... More

I had booked this tour well in advance hoping the trip adviosor reviews were accurate. We were treated to possibly the best tour that I have ever taken! You can read all of the reviews you want but until you are there, and have eagles so close you could touch one, you really cant get describe that "wow" feeling. We... More

Unbelievable, entertaining, educational, and exciting. The crew of the Aleutian Ballad are a hard working, very personable, down to earth group of people. They are the real deal! If you are a fan of the deadliest catch or not, you will enjoy your time spent on this very comfortable ship. My husband and I absolutely loved seeing a flock of... More

Absolutely the best! The Captain and his crew were great. Very educational and fun for all ages. We booked this on our own and didn't really know what to expect. Stadium seating with radiant heat. Money well spent and recommend it highly.
