Stayed at the Intercontinental Bora Bora Le Moana resort, and walked across the street to this beach a couple times during our stay to watch the sunset. The beach is on the west-side of the point, making for ideal sunset watching. Appeared to be frequented by many locals. Clean, very fine sand - overall a nice beach if you don't... More

staff was overwhelmed as we had a party of 6, there was a party of 8 and 10 that came in shortly after - it was hotter than a box oven in there too - but the sushi was made well, fresh, tempura was excellent (had vegetable) - worth the price - staff just needs to work on their service... More

We went for the sunset on our last night. It was gorgeous. I wish we had gone during the day for a swim. There were several couples taking pictures of the scenery.

We heard Matira Beach is one of the most romantic beaches in the world, and indeed it was true! The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking.

Matira Beach is the only naturally formed beach on the island. All the other beaches were formed by the property owners for tourists. It is a great, centrally located, easy to access beach where you can snorkel or lounge about. There is some coral but its not dazzling, and there are so me fish, but we didn't see a lot.... More

I heard rave reviews of Matira Beach, reputed to be the most beautiful in the world. I really don't know how anyone can say this. Indisputably, the beach is very nice, but almost ALL the beaches on Bora Bora are fantastic. Why single this one out? Perhaps it's a good place to catch the sunset. Perhaps because it has a... More

Some of the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen. Very convenient if staying across the street at the Intercontinental Le Moana

Our resort was next to Matira Beach and we got to enjoy several sunsets from there. The beach was nothing special in my opinion as the beach at our resort (Le Moana) was just as nice and not as crowded. The sunsets are spectacular and cannot be missed from Matira Beach. Since it's the only public beach on the island,... More

Matira is a public beach, and most probably your hotel in Bora Bora will have just the same on their grounds.
