Historical mining town of Jerome is a fun place to visit with its interesting shops, funky restaurants, museums, B & B's, and twisty, narrow roads. Activities include walking tours, the First Saturday Art Walks, and music festivals. Several interesting places are the Mile High Grill & Saloon, Jerome Grand Hotel with its Asylum Restaurant, and the Haunted Hamburger, among others.

We were visiting a ruin outside of Sedona and one of the rangers suggested we visit the town of Jerome and we were not disappointed. The road to Jerome is not for the faint of heart. Although it is paved there are numerous switch backs. Stop off at the Chamber of Commerce and get a map. The town is built... More

We recently spent a day in Jerome (the ghost town). October is the perfect time to go for perfect weather and temperatures. The last time I was there was in 1953 when I was in third grade. I remember that there wasn't much there except for grey looking dilapidated buildings and hardly any people. We visited the museum which gave... More

Okay, so you have two ways to get here: from the 17 fwy, to 260, to 89a Cottonwood/Clarksdale or 89 to 89a out of Prescott. The difference? Unless you want twisty curvy hillsides (perfect for motorcycles!) you'd better stick to the Cottonwood route. Jerome reminds me of Lombard street in San Francisco in the gold rush era. A quaint old... More

They have volunteer staff that can help you find things in town or show you various restaurant menus. Sadly they were out of town maps the day we went.

It is only 160+ curves up to the bustling metropolis(?) of Jerome, AZ. Go ahead and take the 89A if you dare. There is a wonderful, quirky aritist community waiting to greet you at the top of the hill with the big J on the side. This copper mining town has lost a few buildings over the years and will... The chamber member we talked to in the small visitors center booth was extremely friendly and informative. Gave us the lowdown on sights to see along with a map, as well as tips on looking for ghosts (lol). Directed us to the Audrey Headframe Park, which houses a mine shaft covered with a small plexiglass window you can look through.... More

Quaint town with lots of cool shops and restaurants to visit, but all we got to to was look in the windows, because 90% of everything closes at 5 p.m. Also, be prepared to walk - Jerome is a smaller version of San Francisco, especially if you're walking UP the staircase community or Lombard Street. All my boyfriend and I... More

We visited Jerome last summer. The switchback road to get up into the mountain was well worth the trip. We stayed at the Cottage Inn bed and breakfast which was a unique and quirky spot. We loved it. Jerome is built on a mountain with mine shafts underneath the town. Lots of history. Great shops and restaurants, I would say... More

In all fairness, we just saw this building after closing - but I did take a picture because it must be no more than 8' x 12' big! It is very cute - maybe there are wonderful things inside - but it is worth seeing for a quick picture.
