I used to love this place. What a great view of Pretoria, especially at night. However, unfortunately, due to the circumstances in our country this is no longer a safe place to go and relax a bit.

Took a German friend here last Sunday. Lovely lazy drive from Rigel ave area. Saw some Zebra on the way. Lovely views of Pretoria. The fort is small, well kept with very interesting historical facts. Simple & different
Fort buildings well maintained, very clean inside & out. Statue of soldier with memory wall of yesteryears fallen heroes nicely situated. Surrounding garden very well manicured, good walkways to,around fort. Exhibits not too many but all items genuine & from that time period. Interesting to see moat around fort, empty & clean.Good, secure parking area. Very high up the koppie so bonus is the...

Alleged to be the only authentically rebuilt Boer fort. Good views over the surrounding areas. Interesting presentation and certainly better that Schanskop. Would recommend a further visit to the Wonderboom fort that is derelict but shows the real look of the forts. It is a hard climb to the fort but you will get outstanding views of Pretoria from there
Not a huge amount of exhibits, but the self-guided tour is interesting, and the views of Pretoria must be some of the best in town. A small armory, then a row of other rooms with displays depicting the history of and life at the fort. Up top, a few cannons. It is not a large fort, I saw something showing...

It takes a little pluck to find this place, the local signage is not very good, but it's worth the effort. The views of the city are excellent, and there is a moving tribute to the SA armed forces in the form of an oversized soldier statue. The fort itself is quite small, but it's interesting to see how much...

This attraction is not very well known. Its only a couple of minutes away from Brooklyn in the east of Pretoria. If you are a military museum fan you will certainly appreciate this attraction. It will only need about 2 hours of your time, which will be well spent.
if you have little boys or consider yourself to be a tomboy! very cool day - if its a windy day, take windbreakers - its on top of a hill - can get windy
Use your GPS to find.
Plentiful secure parking.
Need walking shoes and be prepared for stairs some requiring caution.
Includes 4 X Lifesize bronze statue of charging Infrantryman as a modern memorial to those killed in service.
The fort itself is the only one left in excellent state and as there are NO guides it is essential to read the...

It is clear that some effort has gone into preserving Fort Klapperkop, especially since I believe it isn't well funded, but I was somewhat underwhelmed by the visit. There is a steam locomotive on display that is in a decent state, and a tram that looks rather neglected and dusty. For real history buffs it may hold more appeal than...
