This walking tour of the township led by a resident (Gladstone) was a highlight of our visit to Cape Town. It was easy and personal to book on line. Sivewe responded in a timely fashion to each question and worked the tour around our schedule. This tour is not suitable for those with difficulty walking.
A must on any Capetown trip. We 3 highly recommend Siviwe@townshiptourscapetown.co.za. Our guide Nati (sp) was informative, connected with the Langa community, and made us feel totally comfortable. Two hour walking neighborhood tour including some Baptist Church gospel music. Get out of the tourist locations and interact with people. We found this interesting and quite moving. All our best to...

I am a travel agent that recently brought a group to Cape Town. Visiting Langa was one of our most memorable experiences. We first visited the arts building were we saw ceramists in action and learned how the arts play a role in teaching people to learn a trade. Many of us purchased beautiful handmade gifts here.
On to a...

We were not sure what to expect but our guide Jerry was awesome and the people we met were so genuine and nice. If you really want to get more out of your trip to SA you must go to Langa. Please visit the welcome center too (nice pottery and other crafts available for sale - all were made by...

Enjoyed a brief visit to Langa township with a local friend. It's the oldest township in the area and the closest to Cape Town. Take in lunch at Lelapa if you can and visit the cultural center for crafts. We had an impromptu tour of the pottery studio and the people working there explained their pottery crafting process - beautiful!
We were very delighted to get a tour of the Langa township by four young men who live in 7455 (I think that is the zip). They were very articulate and informative. Sharing how the township began and where it is today. We went inside a home and spoke with a resident. That was moving beyond words. We visite a...

I visited Langa with Grassroute Tours. There where only three of us and a local guide. That was good, because it didn't feel like the typical big group of tourist taking photos.
The experience is not easy and it makes you think a lot about the unfairness that the residents are suffering, but it is really a must if you...

This was my second trip to the Langa and other townships and I found the visit tough and yet I would recommend to anyone visiting South Africa that they must do this trip...I was disappointed that after five years since my last visit little has changed and the people are living in the same squalor...but they are so happy and...

I just returned from a week's vacation in Cape Town South Africa. As part of my stay I wanted to visit Langa Township which I had heard about from some of my pre trip research. I ended up selecting a two hour walking tour of the township for myself and four of my travel companions. We used Township Tours Cape...
