We were staying at a nearby campground, which had a hiking trail that leads you into this park. We were amazed on the beauty of the park and the unique landscape. We discovered additional trails that surround the lake. Lots of amazing sights to see while hiking these long trails.

Close to town, a city park, a wonderful path to hike around the lake, stunning rock formations and tons of birds - a great place to get away and relax. There is also a dock and I do believe there is fishing in that lake. I enjoyed a hike on a marked trail, over boulders and between, with peek a... More

It was a really beautiful lake. nice size for boating. It has hiking trails and pretty peaceful. It's out in the middle of Prescott so there's not a lot of people there.

Dramatic rock formations surround a serene lake. Great spot for biking (especially family with converted "rails to trails" path). Lot's of hiking paths for all abilities and lake a magnet for paddle craft.

We have been to Prescott at least a dozen times and had never been to Watson Lake to see the Granite Dells. Oh my goodness!! Wonderful trails (all easily marked), gorgeous scenery, plenty of parking, picnic areas, and bathrooms. This is totally one of the best kept secrets in all of Arizona. Next time you go to Prescott, you have... More

February 2013 The Jumping Family was in Prescott, and I was looking at the map of Prescott and saw "bodies of water" on the map, but what stood out was Watson Lake. After googling it, it looks like a lot of people have enjoyed going there before...and so off we went! It is located just 4 miles from downtown Prescott... More

It was too early in April for the kayak rental place to be open, so we came here to hike, enjoy the beautiful views and Dells, the granite rock formations. It was as expected...great views of the water, the rocks, and the mountains in the distance. There are several easy trails to hike and also enjoy watching the ducks down... More

We very much wanted to hike the trails and photograph the boulders. We were not disappointed. We got some great shots of the boulders reflecting off the water. There are many parking areas and a $2.00 State Park fee which is paid at a kiosk at the entrance to the park.

Hike, bike or ride your horse around Watson Lake .. the trails are almost endless. If you love balancing rock formations, this is the place for you. The old Peavine Trail runs along one side of the lake, which is a nice wide level trail that goes for miles and miles and is an easy, scenic walk. A short detour... More

I frequent this lake whenever in the Prescott area. People are friendly and the whole area is clean and well kept. The hiking trail around the lake well well maintained.
