Had skipped this the last time in Sedona, but glad we went this time, the history of the church was interesting as were the views, easy to park in December!
this is well worth the trip its a church built into the side of the red rocks of sedona, it is free to see so stop park and walk up to the church its an easy stroll and the scenery is beautiful and so are the views it can become crowded on weekends so try to visit during the week... More
Although I have been wine tasting in Sedona, I have never been to the chapel. Really beautiful church on the cliff with red rock mountains as your backdrop..stunning view! The grounds were well kept. A day to remember as we had family visiting from the east coast, now they want to move to AZ..lol This sure is a hidden wonder..
The Chapel of the Holy Cross is one of my favorite places to visit. I never get tired of the spectacular views and serene atmosphere.
Many people come and admire the views w/o even entering the chapel. Relax, sit down, light a candle, say a prayer, and take in the beauty and peace of this church. The gift shop is also worth visiting. This truly is a spiritual place, take some time and just enjoy it's beauty.
I never felt more at peace in a chapel or church as I did here - and I have been to many churches and chapels, including the Vatican. This is an incredible little space where the light comes in through a large cross-shaped window at the backdrop of gorgeous Sedona rock views. The cactuses and their flowers lead the way,... More
Truly inspirational! This is a Chapel built as a cross with rugged red rock formations surrounding it. A design by Frank Lloyd Wright, you can recognize some of his signature designs (i.e. curving walkway up to Chapel) if you know his work. A local couple said they sometimes have small services at the Chapel that we had to miss due... More
If you're traveling between I-17 and Sedona, it's well worth it to stop off at the Chapel of the Holy Cross and walk up the hill to see the view and stop in at the church. A beautiful design and an amazing view.
The church comes with a forgettable story about the wealthy woman who built it. The external view is striking since it sits on a hillside over;looking the valley. Inside, its stark and only interesting because of the view. That same view is available from many points in the mesas surrounding the valley. If you have anythiong else 5to do, you... More
This is a can't miss attraction in Sedona. Very easy to get to - just a short hike up a hill (steep hill but fine for most). For those that are unable to hike up the hill, there is a small parking area about half way up where they have a golf cart to take people up, along with I... More
