One of the best places in our 3 week trip to Arizona and Utah. the 2 ladies that walked with us were so knowledgeable, and were able to show us things we would never have found on our own. Just beautiful!

Back in the 70's I had the whole place to myself - or at least my family had it all to ourselves!! I would hike up to the Box and sometimes through the Box everyday. When I would get home from school or on weekends I'd be hiking up to the Box. The trail is a secret - The Nature...

Ramsey Canyon is different from the various canyons in the area because it's operated by the Nature Conservancy. The trails are well-maintained, there's a brochure that provides info at numbered stops, and there are NC staffers in and around the visitors' center who can provide great information on not just Ramsey, but the other wildlife hot spots in the area....

This is a nice location to view many species of birds. However the day we visited was windy and not many birds were present. It location is interesting and the staff were informative. Don't miss going to Ramsey Canyon if you are in the neighborhood.
The Natural Conservancy preserves the birds, buildings, trees and trails of this 380 acre canyon. It's impossible to image that this was used for mining after making the hike to the top. Beautiful area! Had lots of photo ops. Kids loved the crazy turkeys at the entrance. I liked how this was go at your own pace. With elderly parents along, it was difficult for them keep up with the rest of us. They do have plenty of sitting areas along the way. We had a lovely day for a stroll.
Loved all the birds, nice visitor area. Hummingbirds galore and lots and lots of other birds and wildlife. Loved this spot.

The lady at the office gave us a map and a kids activity sheet and indicated the hike to the top was 1 mile. So off we went. No hummingbirds or butterflies at the feeders. My boys complained about the...

I dislike being asked by Tripadvisor for 50 characters of open ended review. Either settle for my star rating or nothing.
The Ramsey Canyon Preserve is owned and operated by The Nature Conservancy. The staff was very nice and hospitable. The trail was excellently maintained and peaceful. The overlook at the top is excellent. If desired, the trail connects to the trail system in the Huachuca Mountains. The only bad thing was the Preserve doesn't open until 8 am (I like...
