4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2013 NEW

I thought all those movie and TV western saloons were small to keep the set cost down. I was wrong - the Birdcage is small. The piano itself is almost as wide as the stage. Rental rooms and furnishings were not as nice as I expected, although this is not really a hotel. It was a peek into the authentic... More

Old. Original. Downright scary. Look into the past in the basement in the bedrooms. My better half reckons she wouldn't take $5000 to spend a night there. (Neither would I) This is a special place steeped in history, not glitzy, faded and original. One of the most interesting sites in Tombstone

This is an old saloon and bordello, its a 10.00 fee to get in, but worth it, you can FEEL, the history!!!!

we did the bird cage haunted tour - it was cool really didn't see any ghost but the history was interesting. The lady giving the tour was pretty cool - had all kinds of stories that happened in the bird cage.

The Birdcage is one of the last remaining buildings on Allen Street and is a museum in and of itself. Quite possibly the most haunted building in Tombstone, they offer ghost tours on a nightly basis, well worth seeing if you are into it

This location is self guided, so I kind of felt like we missed a lot. There didn't seem to be a paper guide or literature to help us see the important items. But, it's an amazing feeling to be in a location as it was 100 + years ago.

The theater is all original, I'm told the only building in Tombstone that was not destroyed by either fire. Lots of things to see in the casino, backstage, and basement. Our guide was very informative and the tour was like s step back in time. She also had some interesting ghost stories. Before lights out we saw mortician's table move... More

Very dusty, but extremely interesting. The gift shop had plenty of reasonably priced items and just the thought it might be haunted made it facinating to the kids.

For an unguided tour we didn't do so bad... really weird to be in an actual building, with all the original decorations... usually you have to guess what is real and what isn't but NOT here! I kept my eyes open for the ghosts, which is probably why we didn't happen upon one. The history in this building is amazing!... More

SO if you have read any reviews about Tombstone you know that it can be, well, kind of cheesy. However, I think you will find that the Birdcage Theater is the real thing. This theatre was shut down around the turn of the century in the late 1800's and sat undisturbed for about 70 years. Today you can see this... More
