A great look back into the mining history of old west. Discovered by Henry Wickenburg it reeks of history and conjures up ghosts of time long gone.
Phoenix wouldn't be the city it is without Vulture Mine. The gold that came out of this mine was how Phoenix got its start. The mine does not currently do tours but it is a nice drive out Vulture Mine road. You can see a lot of the old buildings from the road.
Unfortuately there is only one tour early on Sat. mornings. This is a piece of history that is a must. Very interesting and gives a glimpse into the life of a miner and a gold mine. Try to make it a stop on your visit.

Why bother-should be open all the time but is not-check before you drive there-came twice and closed both times and its no short drive from phoenix--i found out open on Saturdays only--wow --Big deal.....
We had a fun afternoon at the Vulture Mine. Took my very favorite photograph there of some old Levi's hanging on a wall. The attraction could use a lot more educational information and descriptions of the history and remains that are on the property, but it was still fun walking through the property.
We recently did a tour of the Vulture Mine in Wickenburg Arizona. The tour was easy and made extremely interesting by the knowledgeable tour guide. History buffs and people who are interested in ghost towns and mining will LOVE this tour but even if you aren't into that you will still find this to be a great experience with fun, knowledgable great guides who know the area and the mine very well! I highly recommend this tour!
Lots of things to look at. Old town feel. Beautiful views and picturesque scenes. Friendly people running the show. All in all a good time. A little humorous as they had mock graves with silly names but historical points.
Very informative tour. Should visit their website before you go to make sure when their tours start and stop. Vulture MIne is very historic.
