I've now been out with this skipper on numerous occasions over past few years. Being a wildlife enthusaist and by no means an expert I have learnt such a lot from Ian. His knowledge and passion is second to none. My own passion is otters, but I've learnt that no creature, no matter how much (and how desperately!) you want... More

Went on this cruise in the middle of may. The skipper was so interesting and able to tell us anything we wanted to know about sea life. Not only did we look at birds and mammals, we were also given a local history lesson! It was the best two hours of our holiday. The skipper also did his best to... More

I knew this was going to be a very good trip when, as I was boarding the boat there was a seal just in the water next to the jetty with his head above the water looking at us. What a great start. Honestly I have to say this was the best trip of it's kind I have ever been... More

Excellent trip around the whole of the bay. The skipper was incredibly knowledgeable and pointed out things which we could never have seen without a local expert. Recommended for the novice wildlife watcher and expert alike

We had a wonderful trip with Gairloch Marine Wildlife Centre. We went on the 2 hour survey cruise and we saw porpoise, white tailed eagles, seals, three otters, puffins and lots of other sea birds. Our guide/skippers knowledge and passion for the wildlife was unbounded. This was by far the highlight of our stay in Gairloch and we would recommend... More

Easily the best of this type of cruise we have been on. We chose this option for our boat trip from several choices in the area because of the scientific background of the centre. In the past we have found that this sort of cruise is too dependent on what you see for yourself whereas we thought that having a... More

Took a boat trip over the Easter weekend and loved every minute of it. Everything from the welcome at the visitor centre to the end of the trip was first class. The skipper was extremely knowledgable about the area and the wildlife and had plenty of tales to tell. The kids were kept engaged for the duration of the tour... More

Excellent boat trip around Gairloch area taking in Longa Island, Badachro, and Red Point. Well looked after in the capable hands of very knowledgeable and dry-witted skipper & marine biologist Ian. Saw several seals, cormorants, shags, guillermots, oyster catchers, skewers, although no porpoises. But we were especially lucky to get repeated views of a fantastic pair of local sea eagles.

once again we had a great trip out with Ian on MV Starquest. Had some great views of a plethora of seabirds, with two ticks to boot for me - White-Tailed Eagle over Longa Island and Great Northern Diver. Also spotted a number of seals around the loch. It's great to go on this trip because Ian knows his stuff... More

Our trip aboard 'Seaquest' for the 2 hour wildlife and cetacean watching cruise was great today as we had a sunny, sparkling (but somewhat chilly) day here at Gairloch. Sea state during around cruise around the island of Longa and return via Badachro was calm and we had good sightings of Cormorant, Shag, Black Guillemot, Razorbill, Great Black-backed Gull, Heron,...
