First the good points, of which there are many: If you're looking for a real relaxing getaway place then this is very pleasant, the park is located on the cliff/bluffs within close walking distance of New Brighton State Beach. I went for three days during the week and the beach was pleasantly uncrowded and really lovely. You hear the waves... More

Well kept; clean. Not crowded. Camping close by. Very nice camp sites overlooking the Ocean. One of the nicest beaches in the area. Probably well maintained because part of State Parks. Admission Fee Daily of $5 or $6 per car. Probably close to being "excellent." I have been there many times over the last 30 years. Very close to Capitola... More

My husband and I recently stayed at this sold out CA state beach and I can see why. It was located in the trees on the bluffs of the ocean and about 10 mins from Capitola. The campsites are large and you have room in between the sites so you are not packed in together. I recommend bringing your bikes... More

We've stayed in this campground twice now - once in a spot with hookups and once in a premium spot along the bluffs. We really love it. It's crowded and the sites are right next to one another but the huge advantage is the beach just a few steps away. It was nice to take the kids down to the... More

This is a great beach for tourists and locals. I have lived near this beach for years. There is a lot of room to roam or you can stay close to the action..you can walk for miles and miles towards Monterey on the beach. My personal Santa Cruz fav.

Good beach in Santa Cruz, but not our favorite. Parking can be difficult and too far from restaurants and shopping.

Representative of the central coast of CA beach experience from the moment you arrive. Good surfing and typical beach goers' recreation and relaxation experience.

This is a park for people who can't bear to be very far from a Kmart or Home Depot....the freeway is always within earshot, so nature can't intrude too much.... You are only 10 minutes from McDonalds, how bad can it be?

Wonderful long sandy beach. Walk from here to Aptos, the concrete boat and "museum" interpretive center. We've seen sea lions, dolphins and large numbers of pelicans several times. bathrooms have been removed this year so portaloos not so good but told new restrooms being built for next season 2013.
