Unless you have a family and children, Burkes is Average at best. The staff is very un-friendly and was quite rude to my friends. My buddy accidently siad, "Oh sh#!", and the person giving the safety speech almost kicked us out! WTF, I can understand that language can be offensive, but what about free speech? I'm from Santa Rosa and... More

My husband and I took our 5 year old grandson our 21 year daughter and some of her friends camping in July of 2012. We had a great time, the staff was very friendly and helpful....The canoe ride down the river was worth every moment. beautiful beaches, great views and just plain fun...I love the showers and super clean bathrooms!... Burke's Canoe Trips was a great way to spend a Saturday on the Russian River. They have campsites available or you can drive in for a day trip. You won't have to worry about anything except showing up. Burke's takes care of the equipment and getting you back to your car or campsite. Your job is to enjoy the leisurely... More

We had a fantastic weekend camping at Burkes and canoeing the Russian River last weekend! The camp ground has a really cool set up -- it consists of several levels of flat camping areas admist enormous trees with a view of the Russian River. Most (or maybe all) of the camping sites have a fire pit and picnic table. There... More

This was a return trip for the group I was with. We had been here 11 years ago for a bachelorette party float down the river. Obviously, it was memorable because we came back to do it again. The Burke crew made sure we knew the whats and wherefors of the river and what to watch out for and supplied... More

My wife and I were in the area on business and I had always wanted to paddle down the Russian River. We didn't bring our kayaks since we live in Southern CA, so planned to rent a double kayak for the day. I had checked out a couple places, but a friend of ours had recently used Burke's and had... Had a great day of Paddling on the river with 2 canoes and a party of 6 including one child of 8. The scenery is beautiful and the water clear in the shallows so is safe for kids to swim in and cool off in the slightly chilly waters. Take plenty of drinks and snacks as there are plenty of... More

It was a great day with my husband. They weren't kidding when they said the water moves slowly. There was no floating down that river. Had to paddle the whole way. Good teamwork for both of us. The bus ride homewas great and very vintage. Totally worth the price and more.

Not recommended for families with children. No control over loud college party going campers. Didn't stop with the bongo drums til 4 AM. Two nights in a row even after Burkes talked to the group. Burkes did refund our money and sincerely felt bad for us night sleeping, but we'll never stay there again.

We hired the canoe for a gentle day out although it's a 10 mile paddle it is very relaxing, until your partner tosses her paddle overboard, gets you beached on a submerged tree and decides at the end that she wanted t stop along the way and swim in the 'wild'. Seriously though it was a great day out, the... More
