we spent a wonderful couple of hours here at these botanical gardens, haven't seen anything like them. Wow the ocean trail and the views that were also there were wonderful. Such a lovely lovely afternoon. Lots of nooks to sit on the benches in the various areas and just enjoy the rays of the sun. Couple of things for us... More

Just a beautiful location no matter what the time of year. This time we visited in April and so much was in bloom it was simply lovely. Plus we lucked out with weather for the first time - perfect.

I'm not a die hard garden fanatic but I do appreciate a work of art. We happened to be in Ft Bragg during National Garden Day so we didn't have to pay admittance fee (It would have been worth it though!). I particularly loved the succulent and vegetable gardens along with all of the rhododendrons that were in full bloom.... More

Very well maintained gardens of all types. Rhododendrons in fantastic colorful bloom. I had to see them. Thought my dog would have to wait in the car but as I entered I saw a bowl of water and a container of treats for dogs. My dog then happily joined me on a 2 hour exploration of the grounds. Among the... More

Simply put, if you enjoy plants you should stop at the Botanical Gardens while visiting the Mendocino coast. The breadth and variety of trees, bushes, ferns etc. is amazing. At this time of year the rhododendrons (spring) are in bloom which is an added bonus! The grounds are lovely and if you are willing to take a short and easy... More

Here you are in a beautiful botanical garden with the sound of the waves in the background walking by different garden settings with sculptures and ponds throughout; and all of a sudden you come to the sea cliffs with crashing waves and a view that goes miles.

We visited the gardens in late April. We caught the azaleas and many of the rhododendrons blooming. Gorgeous! The walk to the ocean overlook is very nice too.

Was hoping to see rhododendrons in bloom. They were but towards the end or something. The foliage looked dry. The entire garden felt like it needs water. Enjoyed the cactus garden.

We visited in Fall 2008 and knew we needed to come back in the spring. We pretty much missed the daffodils and tulips but oh the rhododendrons! There were so many colors and sizes of flowers. There were columbines blooming too (my all time spring favorite) if you looked for them. The fuchsias were starting too. The paths allow you... More
