If what your looking for is a good date night place, the La Jolla Playhouse is perfect. Plays always just seem to have way more class than your typical movie theatre. I had a ball, and who doesn't like getting all gussied up.

If a good play is on your agenda - take a look at the current season for the La Jolla Playhouse - a winning bet - usually provocative, always professional, and rarely a disappointment.
Just saw the comedy "His Girl Friday" in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. The story was delightfully predictable, the lines were clever, funny; the experience, the actors,...

We had not been to this theater since we had moved from Southern California. The theater is wonderful, excellent accoustics, comfortable seating and good actors. A delightful evening.
Have seen several plays at this theater. Many of the plays that show here make their way to Broadway. Some even have originated here & go to Broadway. This theater is well worth return visits many times over.
This is a stunning place to hike, watch the sunset, gliders or have a picnic. Spring is particularly lovely. The sage and wild daisies are pure San Diego.
Alongside the Old Globe - this theater is an absolute gem of the San Diego scene. Especially accommodating to out of town guests with superb customer service - directions and hospitality. Thanks LJP for an evening to remember!
Fantastic theatre, with top-notch production values. Modern, fun, willing to take risks that pay off with trips to Broadway (go, Hands on a Hardbody!). Will absolutely be back. Nice going, San Diego!
cutting edge productions. more risks taken here than at old globe but both are very, very good! San diego really does theater well!
Beautiful, modern theatre with some of the best theatre in San Diego, or anywhere. In recent years they specialize in developing shows (musicals and others) that transfer to Broadway. Specialize in more modern plays, rather than the Shakespeare and classics that often are put up by the Globe.
Seen some outstanding plays, well-known actors/actresses and always feel so fortunate to have this in our community. Thanks to the Jacobs contributions and others, we get to see some shows before they hit Broadway. I've been going to the playhouse for years, but the past few seasons seem to be better than ever. Bravo La Jolla Playhouse!
