It is a remote and very attractive beach area. After about a 14 mile drive you reach a vey scenic beach area with sand and areas with cliffs. People were swimming. If you make reservations you can rent small county owned cottages or you can camp at the beach in county sites. Nice place.

Jalama County Park is a walk on the wild side, a place where you can feel like the only person on the planet when the wind whips the roiling waves to a frothy frenzy and the entire sweeping curve of the coastline stretches out vast and lonely before you. With no islands protecting the coast from the full fury of... More

While the beach was fun to visit (Note: there is a $10 access fee for day use), the drive here was what made it worth it. Rolling, green countryside full of meadows, trees, wildflowers and animals! The drive was the best part, to me. Beach was good, I know a lot of people like to camp here but we just... More

It had been over a year since I moved away from the beach in SoCal, and I desperately needed a saltwater fix. This satisfied my severe case of breaker withdrawls. Seriously, Jalama beach is in the words of all we met while there "the best coastal campground on the Pacific coast". I can attest. We went there in our RV,... More

It is a bit of a drive and they charge you for day use, but the beach is nice and there is a place to eat. Hang around for a sunset...

I did not like the beach tar but I liked all the little rocks and shells. the resturant was fun too. It costs $10 to park your car which ads a cost to eating lunch there.

This isolated beach on the Gaviota coast is still isolated and pristine. One can rent a cabin or an RV hook up or a camp site and stay out here. General store and cafe are funky and the food is very good. Don't miss the Jalama Burgers.

Nice beach. It is facing south and was actually warn there for January. There was many pretty rocks and shells. There are benches and picnic tables. Cost $10 for day use. Looks like a good place for Rv camping. There were some cabins. There are showers and a play area for children.

You have to drive a bit to get here, but it never disappoints! Very wild stretch of ocean. Water very cold and can be extremely windy, but the kite boarders love it and so will you! Have been sharks in area from time to time. Can walk in either direction on the wide beach. Must get a Jalama Burger at... More

I have visited this beach twice and mean to camp there, on recommendation from a friend. It is quite removed from civilization in that no town is nearby, so get supplies before you go there to camp. They do have a little store on site and a snack shack that serves up really tasty Jalama burgers (are they so tasty... More
