I stopped in for a movie last night at the theatre by my hotel. The ticket price was very expensive for what I consider to be an average movie theatre from where I come from. Overall the seating and sound as nothing exceptional, only the price.

You pick your seats and they do not have any commercials you have to sit through before the movie begins. They do show previews. Ticket prices are a little high, but theater is well maintained and the sound system is excellent.

It's more expensive than most theaters, but there are no obnoxious advertisements, reserved seating, and an attentive staff. Try seeing a film in the Cinerma Dome if you are able. Their carmel corn is amazing as well and made daily, or so they tell me.

I had never been to the Sherman Oaks location. So for Date night we saw the Great Gatsby. I SO appreciate NOT having commercials for Pepsi and coke and the LA times before I see a movie. The ArcLight is awesome. Yow won't forget seeing a movie here, especially at the Cinerama Dome. It is an LA classic. I remember seeing movies there 30 years ago and it's still as impressive. the screen is huge and curved and gives you the ultimate viewing experience. The other theaters are also nice. If you are sick of people talking during the movie, texting, or actually talking on their cell phones, this is the theater for you. No one is allowed in after the movie begins and rude boots who talk, text, etc. will be ousted by management. I like to immerse ,twelfth in the movie & don't wa t to be distracted... More

This chain of high tech theatres introduced LA to reserved seating, no ads or crappy pop music while waiting for the show, first class projection equipment,etc. together with, at least in Hollywood, a pretty good place for a pre or post movie snack and drink. i like the ambiance and the choices of food you can bring on a regular movie night or date night. the theater is clean and seats are comfortable. i like watching movies here.
