The wharf has many tempting restaurants, gift shops, and galleries. The view from the end of the wharf included the harbor and some seals. It was windy. Can sign up for boat tours. Not a good place for someone gluten free to find safe snacks.

enjoyed walking on the pier, had some good fish and chips, enjoyed all the clam chowder samples, nice shops, no complaints.
It's really small. There are many fisherman wharfs out there on the coastline. However, it's cute. I love how there's a trail that you can hike along the coast. Just get some clam chowder to go and relax at one of the picnic tables off the trail and enjoy the seals sun bathing. The seals interact with you for a...

We just returned from a fun long week end at Monterey, CA. We attended the Fisherman's wharf clam chowder festival. There was great music, a lot of food vendors and the best clam chowder! The event was on one end of the wharf. It was well run with great food. The clam chowder/bread bowls were the best. It was fun...

This is a great location for good family fun. You can take a stroll down to the pier, enjoy the aquarium, a little history and the best of all GREAT Clam Chowder.
Cute and historical area with beach access right next door. Restaurants and tourist shops along with sea lion watching. I would definitely reccommend a stop here while in Monterey.
Go out on the wharf, they made a cool little dock below, on the water, just for the sea lions, there must have been at least. Loads of people for watching, massive (mostly sailboats) marina adjacent. Whale watching tours launch point from the wharf where all the shops and restaurants are located.
The food was wonderful, I was nervous because I read reviews where the fear of taking children was significant. On the menu it does state that small criying children are distracting. This was my second time visiting, previously in December. My daughter is 6 and does not have an issue with boredom. Both times we had reservations and had amazing...
