We had a fantastic trip to and from Carmel on this wonderful drive. The $9.75 fee is worth it - they provide you with a map highlighting the scenic stops enroute. We saw many seals, otters, deer and sea birds at the various stops. The blue sky and sunshine made for a great drive.

We were not prepared for the toll although you get a refund if you buy something at the Pebble Beach course or go to one of the Pebble Beach restaurants. I had heard that this was a beautiful drive and that I "had" to do it. All I saw were a lot of fences. You cannot see most of the... More

$9.95 for the drive, but get refunded if you spend $30.00 or more on eating. For 2 people, that made our lunch $31.10. A good deal for the area.

Bring cash, the toll only accepts cash. We were happy to pay 9.75 per car for access to this road, it helps the area maintain the roads. Viewing the real estate in the surrounding area was an added bonus.

Close your eyes and listen to the sound of the waves hitting the rocks.Maybe that should really be done in the last mile because if you close them you will miss the amazing beauty of what Mother Nature has given us.The blue of the ocean with massive rocks emerging out of nowhere covered with birds, sea otters or a sea lion... We were exploring in the car and headed towards this without really knowing what it was. Although it was a surprise to be charged to enter, we didn't regret it and soon were enchanted with this lovely drive. We ended up spending several hours winding our way around and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Although the views are great and rugged... More

This drive is a must see when you visit the Monterey/Carmel area. We drove it on a beautiful sunny but windy day. The houses, golf courses and the ocean is fabulous! Drive into Carmel and have lunch.

Had a lovely day driving the 17 mile drive. We started off initially in fog so came out and visited Carmel and then went back in again which was an option available. The scenery was lovely and it was very relaxing driving. Had a lovely lunch at the Inn at Spanish Bay and whilst it was not the cheapest, the... More
