I really liked this upscale "public market". It had a bunch of restaurants to suit different tastes. Granting you won't get a romantic meal in here, it is definitely a nice place to get a meal.

When we lived in Napa the Ox Bow Public Market did not exist. On the recommendation of friends we went and took a look. This is a scaled down version of the Ferry Building Market in San Francisco. Neat spot that has several shops and restaurants. We ate at the Kitchen Door. It was very good. On a Saturday evening around 8 most of the shops were closed, but all the food establishments seemed to be open. We had mushroom soup and it was very good. The oyster bar was also recommended but we did not eat there.

Great location over the river from Downtown Napa and wonderful selection of eateries and shops that are much more relaxed and family friendly.

What a neat place. Open market style. Different food options. A few bars. Dessert options. Markets for food. I loved it. A great place to load up on food before exploring Napa valley.
