We were driving by and stopped here on a whim. So glad we did! What an amazing sight! I highly recommend taking the 20-30 minutes out of your day to see this.

An amazing side trip in southern Pismo Beach area! There are docents that educate the public on the Monarch Butterfly habitat daily. Dogs are allowed on the walking trails too--very picturesque.

Of course this is a seasonal experience. But when the Butterflies appear the knowledgable, friendly docents will show you around. This is a worthwhile stop when traveling the less-travelled highway 1.

Lovely stop! Great little area that protects and counts the monarchs. We go every time we are in the area. It is worth the stop if you are in the area.

There were less butterflies this year than last, but it was still amazing to see the butterflies hanging amongst the branches disguised as leaves! Thankfully there were volunteers there to answer questions and share a telescope!

This little spot of sunshine in Pismo Beach is one of my favorite places to take visitors. The docents are full of information and give very interesting talks.

We've visited the Butterfly Grove a couple of times. Butterflies fill the trees, and if you're patient will flutter all around you.

When the butterflies are in season, it's a fascinating spectacle! Volunteer docents provide great information. There is a mile long boardwalk next to the beach which runs adjacent to the butterfly grove. The grove isn't large - maybe 2 acres, but it's beautiful & free!

Lot of butterfly and amazing to know their facts. They also had info sessions which helped understand about butterflies.
