Okay, so I'm writing this update on the Crocker without using the phrase: "...for Sacramento." Like for instance, "This is a good museum...for Sacramento." This museum rocks full stop! I happened to come here on a "pay what you like" Sunday, I believe it is the 3rd Sunday of the month. The good thing about coming to the Crocker on... More

If you happen to be in Old Town Sacramento you can walk to this museum by using the riverside pedestrian walkway and the O street pedestrian bridge. Just a short walk from the tower bridge. The cafe has some tasty sandwiches and salads or you can opt for yogurt and fruit. The museum has a really large collection of California... More

The Crocker is a Sacramento icon and treasure. While it does have substantial support, I'm always dismayed by how many people I meet who say they have never been there. The new addition is gorgeous and offers exciting and diverse exhibits.

Very nice museum. Well designed with a pleasant "flow". Wide range of art and sculpture on display. Several items were extremely unique and eye-catching. The museum appeals to all ages. There were many school groups attending with docents explaining the art. They all were very attentive & seemed to be enjoying the experience....better than a video game!

Enter across the park in the new and modern addition to the mansions. Most of the works are displayed in the elegant and beautifully maintained old mansions. My favorites of the items displayed were the huge contemporary painting near the museum entrance and the tribal artifacts. The variety of the ceramics and pottery held my attention as did the subject... More

My 4 year old daughter attended a birthday party here and they did a great job! The girls got to make their own period clothing and hats and then were taken on a guided tour of the museum. After the party she and I walked around looking at the art some more. It was an enjoyable afternoon!

Wish I had a longer stay because I would have spent another day there. Magnificent historical building with stunning new addition. Beautiful exhibit of wood objects made on a lathe.

The real deal. The permanent exhibition has some of the best examples of historical art in the country. Lots of modern art and sculptures for any taste. Discounts available in the Entertainment Book.
