It is great to have California's capital building in Sacramento. This is one main attraction everyone should check out. I haven't got a chance to go inside yet, but have been to the capitol park several times to relax.

How can we not be proud of our state's beautiful Capitol building? So much history here, and the renovation completed in the 1980s was first rate. Lovely grounds.
For the size of California. The capitol should be this amazing, extravagant, Texas or D.C. like building and it isn't. Not sure what they spend all that budget money on in California, but it is not this building.
This was a tour of the California State Capitol that was delightful!
Our Sacramento family planned the tour for us. The parking was convenient and easy to find; the access through security was OK as expected with no problems.

Take the free, one hour docent tour then spend some time on your own. Beautifully preserved, you can imagine what it must have been like to be there 100 years ago. This is spectacular. One of the most beautiful buildings in the country. Other than a little problem to find a parking place, this is a site not to be missed. The docents are all very knowledgeable.

It has beautiful grounds. All the trees were gifts from other countries. You see the most amazing collection of trees. The rose garden is beautiful. So many well cared for roses. In my horticulture class we spent a day at the Capitol, just studying the grounds. I have not been inside the Capitol in years, but remember as a child...

We took our grandson here over a year ago. He was probably 10 at the time. He really enjoyed the trip. Also we stopped by the Veteran's Memorial for Viet Nham War. This is a must do while you are in the area. Many area men are listed...including my husband's relative.
We took a tour of the state capitol and it was such a delight to see the place were our rules and regulations are made!
Judy our tour guide did such a great job in explaining all the details and history of this place!
Thank you for making our trip the best it could be Judy we wish you all...
